Callen Steinour made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Brandywine: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Manny Martinez-Guzman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, McKean hadn't done well against First State Military Academy recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Highlanders' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 11-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Highlanders.
Brian Gonzales was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Sanchez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
McKean was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First State Military Academy only posted a batting average of .071.
Brandywine's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for McKean, their victory bumped their record up to 6-14.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brandywine has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like McKean struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Brandywine's way against McKean in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Brandywine made off with a 21-3 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
