The Ambridge Bridgers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beaver. While losing is never fun, Ambridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while Beaver is ranked 224th).
It was another big night for Ty Butler, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Beaver. Nick Krzeczowski was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Ambridge's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Beaver, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-9.
Ambridge will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln Park Performing Arts at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Lincoln Park Performing Arts' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Beaver, they will be playing at home against North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,370 points over their last 18 matches.
