Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Kennedy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Taft racked up 11 assists.
Taft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alaysia Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Taira Leota, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and two steals.
Kennedy has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Taft, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-12.
Kennedy will be playing in front of their home fans against Delano at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Delano is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Taft, they will head out on the road to challenge Shafter at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Shafter's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
