The Vista Murrieta Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-50 to Diamond Bar. While losing is never fun, Vista Murrieta can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 714th, while Diamond Bar is ranked 198th).
Vista Murrieta's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyson Pulsipher, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Smith, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Vista Murrieta were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Vista Murrieta has fallen quite a ways from their 21-5 record last season and are now at 1-6. As for Diamond Bar, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Vista Murrieta will be home for the holidays to greet San Jacinto at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. San Jacinto is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. Diamond Bar and Rowland will face off at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Rowland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday.
