The Willits Wolverines lost to the Round Valley Mustangs on Friday, but the Willits Wolverines didn't allow the Round Valley Mustangs the same satisfaction on Saturday. Willits walked away with a 39-31 victory over Round Valley. The win made it back-to-back wins for Willits.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Willits to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cecily Potter, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Hazel Cooke, who scored 11 points.
Willits has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Round Valley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Willits will be playing in front of their home fans against Mendocino at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendocino is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. Round Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Laytonville at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
