It was another big night for Ella Skrzyniarz, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games she's played. Ursula Chen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten steals.
When it comes to explaining why El Camino lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Noelle Potratz. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Potratz is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Javanna Pedigo, who scored four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, El Camino struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Vista del Lago pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Vista del Lago's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.33 points. As for El Camino, their loss dropped their record down to 11-10.
Vista del Lago will head out on the road to take on Rio Americano at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rio Americano will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 883rd, while Vista del Lago is ranked 112th). As for El Camino, they will be playing at home against Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christian Brothers is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
