Kennedy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valeria Payan-Medina, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Imaree Curry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
East Bakersfield now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Kennedy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Bakersfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Tehachapi is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to square off against McFarland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
