Southwest EC has gone a perfect 10-0 against Holtville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Southwest EC's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Holtville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Southwest EC gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Central 13-2. Considering the Eagles have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Holtville can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over San Dieguito Academy.

Ayden Avila spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. Holtville is 2-1 when Avila allows three or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Holtville's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Zavien Aguirre, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits Aguirre has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Nico Trujillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Southwest EC and bumps their season record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Holtville, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Southwest EC took their victory against Holtville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
