Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pepperell

Pepperell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Trion Bulldogs with a sharp 18-2 victory. Considering the Dragons have won 14 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cade Middleton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, JP Kilgo was incredible, firing off two home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-4. Those eight RBI gave him a new career-high. Kaleb Davis was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pepperell's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Trion, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Pepperell will be playing at home against Callaway at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Trion, they are taking a road trip to square off against Manchester at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
