Everything went the Monarchs' way against Dorsey as they made off with a 25-15 win. The Monarchs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Michael Nevarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. David Briseno was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Harbor Teacher was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .677. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, King/Drew made easy work of Locke on Thursday and carried off a 25-4 victory. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
King/Drew let Sammy Ventura and Oscar Reyes run wild. Ventura went a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base, while Reyes went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Reyes continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arturo Rivas, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
King/Drew's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Harbor Teacher, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harbor Teacher has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. However, it's not like King/Drew struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Harbor Teacher came up short against King/Drew in their previous matchup back in April, falling 11-7. Will the Monarchs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
