The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wabasso, who took down 91st ranked Springfield, 20-14.
Red Rock Central was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from ninth to fifth in Southern Minnesota. Earlier in the week, the Falcons defeated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 36-13.
The Tigers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Menage threw for 130 and one touchdown and Christopher Kretsch had 73 yards receiving. On the ground Menage chipped in 64 yards. Cooper Scheffler helped Springfield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 26 yards.
Springfield's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Menage has thrown for 462 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Kretsch has 12 catches for 218 yards. Menage also leads the league in rushing with 280 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when St. Mary's takes on the Cougars. At the moment, the Knights are in first, while Cedar Mountain/Comfrey is in ninth.
Southwestern United co-op [Round Lake/Brewster/Southwest Star Concept] moved up to 57 from 261 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southern Minnesota. A 50-6 win over the Raiders helped the Raiders improve their standing.
