Basketball Recap: Casa Roble Comes Up Short

If Casa Roble was feeling good fresh off their 49-28 takedown of Galt on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams took a hard 59-45 fall against the Bella Vista Broncos on Thursday. The Rams have struggled against the Broncos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Casa Roble saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paisley Canady shot 44% from the field on her way to 20 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Canady has scored all season. Brinley Ornelas was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

It was another big night for Eva Jensen, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds for Bella Vista. Jensen is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lila Ortega, who posted eight points and four steals.

Casa Roble's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Bella Vista, their record is now 3-9.

Casa Roble wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-33 defeat against Oakmont on the 19th. As for Bella Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-38 loss against River City on the 19th.
