The Central Valley Christian Cavaliers are taking a road trip to square off against the Exeter Monarchs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Central Valley Christian came out on top against Kerman on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Cavaliers took their matchup against the Lions 7-2.
Jentzen Dunn made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
In other pitching news, Calvin Kaminski looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Nathan Pursell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
Exeter hadn't beaten Hanford West on the road since April 23, 2024 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Monarchs blew past the Huskies 9-2. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Central Valley Christian, Exeter also got a great game from a two-way player: Ryan Hernandez. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Hernandez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Tanner Garnett was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Gilbert Ortiz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Central Valley Christian's record now sits at 13-9. As for Exeter, their record is now 15-6-1.
Central Valley Christian beat Exeter 6-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
