After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mound-Westonka/Southwest Christian, The Zimmerman Thunder were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They blew past Apollo, posting a 45-7 win on the road.
When it comes to explaining why Apollo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maurice Brown. Despite the final result, he gained 101 total yards and a touchdown.
Zimmerman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-7 record this season. As for Apollo, their loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Zimmerman will take on Providence Academy/Heritage Christian Academy/Maranatha Christian Academy/West Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Providence Academy/Heritage Christian Academy/Maranatha Christian Academy/West Lutheran is ranked 155th, while Zimmerman is ranked 148th). As for Apollo, they will head out on the road to face off against Mora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
