After a string of three wins, the West Catholic Burrs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 43-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coatesville.
Despite the loss, West Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Ciana Blake scored eight points along with three steals. Blake is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ciani Scott, who scored eight points.
West Catholic's defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-1. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Coatesville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
West Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Abington at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday. Coatesville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Penn Wood at 12:00 p.m. on December 17th. Penn Wood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coatesville in Pennsylvania (Penn Wood is ranked 78th, while Coatesville is ranked 227th).
