Basketball Recap: Mare Island Tech Academy Takes a Loss

Mare Island Tech Academy suffered their biggest loss since January 8th on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 45-14 loss at the hands of the North Hills Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-15 two weeks ago.

Despite the defeat, Mare Island Tech Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alissandra Junio posted four points in addition to ten rebounds and five blocks. Mare Island Tech Academy is 4-2 when Junio posts eight or more boards, but 3-4 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Mare Island Tech Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Madison Park Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.8% over those games). As for North Hills Christian, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Mare Island Tech Academy has already played their next matchup, a 27-20 loss against Madison Park Academy on the 7th. As for North Hills Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 20-0 defeat against Trinity Prep on the 7th.
