Lutcher had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Morgan City on Thursday. The Lutcher Bulldogs blew past the Morgan City Tigers 18-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lutcher's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Morgan City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Lutcher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Cecilia's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Morgan City, they will challenge South Lafourche at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
