The Saint Joseph Jesters will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the West Ranch Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Saint Joseph rose to the challenge on Thursday. They managed a 42-38 victory over the Conquerors. The win made it back-to-back wins for Saint Joseph.
Saint Joseph's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ella Zabala, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Leah Zabukovec, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and eight blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zabala has scored all season. Suzanne Ponce was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, West Ranch got the win against Patriot on Thursday by a conclusive 60-39. Given West Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Patriot is ranked 899th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Joseph has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for West Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 17-12.
