With a playoff game on the line, the Adelanto Saints rose to the challenge on Saturday. They never let the Cowboys onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Adelanto's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 751st, while Chino is ranked 289th).
Adelanto was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Cristal Magana and
Kassandra De Santiago, who scored both of Adelanto's goals. The pair have combined for a total of six so far this season.
The win was the fourth in a row for Adelanto, bringing their record for this year to 6-11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matches. As for Chino, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4-3.
Adelanto will take on Campbell Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Adelanto is coming into the game with three straight victories at home, so Campbell Hall is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Chino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
