The Johnson Warriors will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Highlands Scots at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Johnson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
Last Monday, Johnson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 win over Woodland. That's two games straight that Johnson has won by exactly three points.
Johnson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Iris Vang led the charge by scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Amirah Suarez, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Highlands, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They were dealt a 52-17 defeat at the hands of Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on Wednesday.
Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Highlands, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-6.
Johnson strolled past Highlands in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 51-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Johnson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
