On Thursday, the Cumberland Valley Eagles's game was all tied up 20-20 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They escaped with a win against Carlisle by the margin of a single free throw, 38-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cumberland Valley also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Cumberland Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Mcintire, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Sanai Hill was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds.
Cumberland Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season. As for Carlisle, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Valley will square off against Mt. Lebanon at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Lebanon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cumberland Valley in Pennsylvania (Mt. Lebanon is ranked 125th, while Cumberland Valley is ranked 333rd). As for Carlisle, they will head out on the road to challenge Central Dauphin East at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
