When it comes to explaining why La Sierra lost, one person who can't be blamed is Eunice Castro. Despite the final result, she scored four points along with nine rebounds and eight blocks. Castro has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Rancho Verde's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for La Sierra, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Rancho Verde will be playing at home against Paloma Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paloma Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rancho Verde in California (Paloma Valley is ranked 261st, while Rancho Verde is ranked 600th). La Sierra won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Norte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Norte Vista will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
