Point Loma lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Eva Cruz, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Cruz has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Heckman, who posted nine points and eight boards.
Even though they lost, Point Loma smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.
It was another big night for Fatuma Abdi, who earned 11 points and five steals for Crawford. With that strong performance, Abdi is now averaging an impressive 2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Suraya Mumin, who had six points and five rebounds.
