Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Overfelt's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Overfelt won the last time they faced San Jose and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Royals blew past the Bulldogs 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Royals, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA and ALFREDO GALLEGOS MEDINA did most of the damage at the plate: CASTANEDA-AZCUETA got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while GALLEGOS MEDINA went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. CASTANEDA-AZCUETA has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of BRANDON GONZALEZ, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Overfelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jose only posted an OBP of .350.

Overfelt has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for San Jose, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Overfelt by a score of 13-9 on Thursday.
