The Morse Tigers will take on the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Morse's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.
Morse's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over San Diego. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by just one run.
The result came thanks to Miguel Aguigui's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Morse saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Westover, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave Westover a new career-high.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Mission Bay nor Canyon Crest Academy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Buccaneers walked away with a 5-0 win over the Ravens.
Van Playman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Blake Barnes looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Oswald, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Emery Semmens was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
Mission Bay was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Crest Academy only posted a batting average of .125.
Morse's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-17-1. As for Mission Bay, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.
