The Amador Buffaloes will head out to take on the Bradshaw Christian Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Amador's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Rosemont by a score of 4-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.
Amador saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brad Blankenheim, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Union Mine. The Pride might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Alex Crosno and Ethan Rickert made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Crosno kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rickert struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Crosno has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At bat, Crosno went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple, while Rickert scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Evan Fujii-Sisler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Bradshaw Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive games.
Bradshaw Christian's victory was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Amador, their record now sits at 6-7-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Amador has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bradshaw Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Amador suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Bradshaw Christian in their previous meeting on March 11th. Can Amador avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
