Temecula Prep has gone a perfect 5-0 against Hamilton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Patriots will welcome the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. Temecula Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Temecula Prep barely beat Redlands Adventist Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Bulldogs on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kevin Baker and Evan Van Winkle made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Baker pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Van Winkle pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Baker got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Van Winkle earned two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Van Winkle has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Temecula Prep let Braden Litt and Noah Scarlett run wild. Litt got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Scarlett went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Scarlett has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Nikolaz Gonzalez was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Temecula Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redlands Adventist Academy only posted an OBP of .333.
San Jacinto Leadership Academy hit Hamilton with a six-run third inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats fell 11-6 to the Lions.
Alex Velasquez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Joey Alvarez, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Temecula Prep pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Temecula Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hamilton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Temecula Prep took their victory against Hamilton in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
