Berkeley has gone 7-1 against Encinal recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will venture away from home to square off against the Jets at 4:00 p.m. Berkeley will be strutting in after a victory while Encinal will be coming in after a loss.
Berkeley lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Piedmont, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Yellowjackets put the hurt on the Highlanders with a sharp 10-1 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their two-run performance the game before.

Akanni Owodunni was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Berkeley: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 6-10 otherwise. Isaiah Mays was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Meanwhile, Encinal fell victim to Castro Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 2-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Jets in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
Anthony Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Berkeley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Encinal, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.
Berkeley's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Yellowjackets have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Encinal, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Berkeley continue to outrun the ball?
Berkeley took their win against Encinal in their previous meeting back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
