The King's Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The King's Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Last Wednesday, The King's Academy made easy work of St. Francis and carried off a 13-3 victory. The King's Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Davis Windham was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. The King's Academy is undefeated when Windham allowstwo or fewer hits, but 2-4 otherwise. Windham was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Anderson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Joel Martin also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
The King's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Scholars Guild Academy got themselves on the board against Skipstone Academy on Thursday, but Skipstone Academy never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 15-0 win.
Like The King's Academy, Scholars Guild Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Will Pittman. Throwing, Pittman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ty Newton pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. At bat, Pittman scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Newton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jacob Chupp was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Henry Rumble was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Scholars Guild Academy's record now sits at 5-6. As for The King's Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Scholars Guild Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: The King's Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Scholars Guild Academy, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain The King's Academy's hitters?
The King's Academy took their victory against Scholars Guild Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for The King's Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
