Baseball Recap: High Tech SD Has No Trouble Against Mount Miguel

High Tech SD got themselves on the board against Mount Miguel on Tuesday, but Mount Miguel never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Matadors with a sharp 19-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Izo Kobayashi and Max Rivera made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Kobayashi kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Rivera pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Kobayashi got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Rivera got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Kobayashi has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Julian Acevedo was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Landon Carroll, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and four RBI.

High Tech SD always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Miguel only posted an OBP of .321.

High Tech SD's record now sits at 2-0. As for Mount Miguel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Tech SD will challenge Escondido Charter at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Miguel, they will square off against Coastal Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
