The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays can finally bid farewell to their 32-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-32 victory over Shade. Conemaugh Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Leading Conemaugh Valley to victory were Sarah Miller and Madison McCleester. Miller scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while McCleester scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCleester has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Penelope Reininger, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Conemaugh Valley's victory ended a 15-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-13. As for Shade, they bumped their record down to 0-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conemaugh Valley will face off against Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ferndale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Wednesday. As for Shade, they will head out on the road to challenge Cambria Heights at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
