Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mastery, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on Pennsauken Tech with a sharp 11-5 victory last Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warrior considering their one-run performance the game before.
Jonas Santiago made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Mastery got a massive performance out of Jaylin Quezada, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Quezada a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Basilio, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Haddon Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Mastery, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Haddon Heights has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Mastery struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
