The Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors lost against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals on January 11th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Yerba Buena took a serious blow against the Cardinals, falling 69-23. Yerba Buena has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Snowe DeLeon was her usual excellent self, scoring 29 points for Mt. Pleasant. That makes it seven consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least a third of Mt. Pleasant's points. Another player making a difference was Destinee Townes, who scored 17 points.
Yerba Buena's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Mt. Pleasant, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yerba Buena will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Jose comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will be playing at home against the Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
