The Lowell Red Devils will face off against the Crown Point Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crown Point will be up against a hot Lowell team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Red Devils put the hurt on Wheeler with a sharp 13-2 win on Thursday. Lowell's victory was all the more impressive since the Bearcats were averaging only 3.67 runs allowed on the season.
Riley Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lowell got a big performance out of Isabella Baron, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Baron a new career-high. Madison Evancho also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lowell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheeler only managed five.
Meanwhile, Crown Point owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over La Porte.
La Porte's batters probably weren't too happy with Paige Liezert, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 15 Ks (she gave up five walks).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lulu Johnston, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Anna Neal was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Lowell's record now sits at 8-10. As for Crown Point, their record is now 20-5-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Lowell hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Crown Point struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lowell came out on top in a nail-biter against Crown Point in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
