Baseball Recap: Covenant Academy Comes Up Short

Covenant Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in February.

Asa Wood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Seth Daugherty was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Covenant Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mount de Sales Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Academy will host David Emanuel Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covenant Academy will need to watch out since David Emanuel Academy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tattnall Square Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tattnall Square Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Mount de Sales Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
