When it comes to explaining why Southern Fulton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andrea Elder. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. Elder has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlynne McQuait, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Tussey Mountain found their leader in underclassman Karah Husick, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Husick has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cara Benton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Southern Fulton's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Tussey Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Southern Fulton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McConnellsburg at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. The timing isn't great for McConnellsburg: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Southern Fulton has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road. As for Tussey Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Everett at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Everett will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tussey Mountain surely won't give up without a fight.
