Mt. Eden is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Tennyson get on the board and left with a 34-0 win on Friday. With that victory, the Monarchs brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Mateo Romo made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Mt. Eden's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Romo was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Javier Alfaro III looked comfortable as he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cristian Alvarenga, who scored six runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. Those six runs gave him a new career-high. Bryan Zamora was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Mt. Eden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Mission San Jose was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Kennedy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered against the Titans since May 28, 2021.
Mission San Jose saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Campbell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. That double was Campbell's first of the season.
Mission San Jose's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Mt. Eden, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Mt. Eden skirted past Mission San Jose 6-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
