The Victoria Knights were the 51-39 winner over the St. John Tigers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Victoria fell just short of St. John by a score of 58-56. Victoria has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Victoria lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Seth Schwien, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Schwien is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. William Scherrer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Victoria's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-10. As for St. John, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Victoria will take on Kinsley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victoria is facing Kinsley at the right time seeing as Kinsley is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for St. John, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Sterling at 8:00 p.m. on February 13th. Sterling will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something St. John surely won't give up without a fight.
