After flying high against the New Castle Hurricanes last Thursday, the Mars Fightin' Planets came back down to earth. Mars was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 43-42 to Montour. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mars of the 47-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Mars saw an underclassman step up: Cecilia Christy almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gianna Delisio, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Mars' defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Montour, their victory bumped their record up to 9-15.
Mars does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montour also has no future games currently scheduled.
