Even though the Sacramento Dragons have not done well against the Rio Americano Raiders recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Sacramento snuck past Rio Americano with a 39-33 win. The win was familiar territory for Sacramento who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for La ne Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of E'Myiah Morris, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Sacramento's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Rio Americano, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sacramento's road trip will continue as they head out to face El Camino at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Rio Americano, they will square off against Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vista del Lago is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
