Given Chester's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Maxwell is ranked 953rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why Maxwell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emma Hendrix. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. The game was Hendrix's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Camila Hernandez, who scored seven points.
Chester's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Maxwell, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
