Papillion-LaVista South is 9-1 against Bellevue West since August of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. Grace Veik was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jaycee Woodard was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Aubrey Busch was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Papillion-LaVista South's record now sits at 14-12. As for Bellevue West, their record is now 9-19.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Papillion-LaVista South hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Bellevue West struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
