Northeastern Clinton is 0-10 against Moriah since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Moriah Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Northeastern Clinton strolled past Peru with points to spare, taking the game 58-42.
Jordan Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyle Marshall, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Moriah waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Ticonderoga 64-36 at home. Moriah has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season.
Moriah's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Wyatt Whitman, who scored 17 points along with five steals, and Cooper Allen, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Whitman scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Logan Gilbo, who scored two points along with seven assists and four steals.
The win got Northeastern Clinton back to even at 8-8. As for Moriah, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Northeastern Clinton came up short against Moriah when the teams last played back in January, falling 51-41. Can Northeastern Clinton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
