Meanwhile, Santa Clarita Christian never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over Valley Torah. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by eight runs or more this season.
Jacob Trsosper was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayden Rappleye, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024. Wyatt Shields was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Santa Clarita Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .725. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Santa Clarita Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Valley Torah, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
