Midtown is 0-3 against Pace Academy since February of 2019 but things could change on Monday. Midtown will look to defend their home field against Pace Academy at 5:55 p.m. Midtown will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Midtown is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Drew get on the board and left with a 28-0 victory last Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Sam Dempsey was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Midtown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Pace Academy lost 12-6 to Northgate on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly six runs.
Charlie Dobbie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Owen Peretz, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Pace Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Midtown, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Midtown has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pace Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Midtown came up short against Pace Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 7-2. Can Midtown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
