The Tamaqua Blue Raiders's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They breezed by Salisbury Township on the road to the tune of 53-16. That's another feather in the cap for Tamaqua, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Tamaqua found their leader in underclassman Lauren Ligenza, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ligenza has scored at least 25% of Tamaqua's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorelei Plasha, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Tamaqua's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Salisbury Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tamaqua will take on Pottsville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salisbury Township, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northwestern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m.
