After a string of three wins, the Shadow Hills Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were the victim of a tough 65-45 loss at the hands of Los Osos. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Shadow Hills has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Shadow Hills still got an impressive performance from Victoria Hyatt, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Hyatt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Skylah Archer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Los Osos found their leader in underclassman Jackie Polk, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destinee Knight, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Shadow Hills' loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Los Osos, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Shadow Hills will head out on the road to square off against Rancho Mirage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Mirage is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Los Osos, they will be playing at home against Etiwanda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Etiwanda knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Los Osos likes a good challenge.
