The Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] Mustangs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Last Thursday, Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood faced Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood was beaten by Westhope/Newburg/Glenburn 50-12. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood couldn't push the score so high this time.
Although Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood took the loss, they still got scores from Jaren Mattern and Reyden Beck.
Meanwhile, South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 51-6 victory over Kidder County co-op [Steele-Dawson/Tappen] at home. Fans of South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Connor Kosiak was on fire: he rushed for 331 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry. Kosiak was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Cole Stock was another key contributor, rushing for 59 yards and a touchdown.
South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley]'s victory bumped their season record to 8-0 while Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood's loss dropped theirs to 6-3.
