They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Friends' Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, St. Frances Academy had strong showings from Zoe Osby, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds, and Amora Alston, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Alston scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mone't Edwards, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
St. Frances Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Friends' Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Frances Academy will take on Mercy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maryland (Mercy is ranked 31st, while St. Frances Academy is ranked 14th). As for Friends' Central, they will head out on the road to take on Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friends Select comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
