The Quartz Hill Royals proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 30) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Avalon out 41-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Quartz Hill has posted yet this season.
Mandy Frozina continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring eight points along with six steals and five assists. Alonna Rollins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Quartz Hill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Avalon, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-4 record last season and are now at 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quartz Hill's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. West Ranch will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Avalon, they will head out on the road to face off against The Webb Schools at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Xajani Badkar and Xemina Moreno.
